Does anybody have any experience with UV LEDs in headlamps (for example the Scurion has a UV option)? Are they a bit of a gimmick or do they work well for making minerals/formations etc glow (and getting a bit of an underground tan)?
I ask because I'm planning on putting a UV LED into an Oldham headset. One of my worries was that the headset glass might not let the UV light through. But as far as I can gather from the internet this shouldn't be too much of a problem since the UV wavelength of my LED (400nm) is close to visible light wavelengths. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has tried this though.
Cheers
