Mandelbrot discovered fractals that are self similar, i.e. no matter how much you zoom, it still has the same sort of patterns. So if you zoom into the 'B' of his name, you find the same pattern repeating, i.e. the whole name. Zoom in to the new 'B', and you find the same.
