The Met Office has just issued a warning that "out door activities could be disrupted".
Should we ask them if this includes Caving ?
They might have the definitive  answer we all seek!

I've been praying for rain. The summer has been great but in dry weather our main dig stops.

All this dire warning stuff about the weather: here is Sussex today the weather it pretty much like it is in Wales half the time I go caving - nothing I haven't seen many times before. Horribly wet and windy.  :yucky:

It stands to reason that Caving is an outdoor activity !

wasn't the phrase of interest "open air"?

Everything would be more clear cut if it had been "outdoor"

Today, a resident of Clapham was asked by a visitor  "is Ingleborough Cave indoors or outdoors?"

If I had been foolish enough to go caving today then it would most certainly be considered an outdoor activity. There are very few more extreme outdoor activities than getting changed, after a caving trip, on a very wet and windy fell-side!

Damp's OK, it's the draughtiness that's the main concern.

Good luck with the dig Simon; we've also got various projects which would benefit from a good flush.
