where to go caving from Hidden Earth?

a few of us would like to do a caving trip while we are at Hidden Earth, but as we haven't done much caving up that way - Wales is more our stomping ground, we are not quite sure where to go.

Any suggestions - no technical SRT though, i'm still learning

cheers, and have a good weekend to everyone going  :)

You could try the new extensions in Water Icicle Close cavern. You might have to talk your way in though. Hands off our sheep btw.

Giants and P8 aren't a million miles away. Both good trips. Need a ladder or two (or SRT) to get anywhere useful but generally no other kit required.

P8 is my favourite.  (y)

Some large stomping passage in Carlswark, bit like Draenan but no gate (and lots of piss poor crawling  ;) )

On a more serious note, Giants round trip is a must do for a newcomer to the area, and a Gautries then P8 duo is a classic combo as well. For some SRT practice Oxlow is a resonable introduction, as well as plenty at Monyash. The Hillocks oil drum entrance is a good route into the bottom of Knotlow with two short pitches. For the more mine savvy Devonshire is an easy intro, with perhaps Wapping/Cumberland for the more aware. Of course Peak is a classic with many options if you can arrange access. For the more SRT enthused there are many options, check out the CCPC rigging guide...

Nettle is a must for the SRT competent.

Rowter Hole  for easy SRT shaft bombing.

Bagshawe for easy bimble around, with a very easy short SRT pitch if you fancy (access arranged via the Revells).

If its not hammering it down, Waterways in a nice furtle and no rope required and its a lot nearer Leak than all the other stuff mentioned here.  PM AndyF for detailed info.

  Hell, so many to consider. thanks for all the suggestions, they are keeping Google busy at the moment

Are any of them particularly easy to get lost in? cant go missing the stomp because we are wandering round like pillocks.

And dont worry about the sheep - i may have "talked my way" into caves before, but i draw the line at "talking" to sheep  ;)
