Hi,
Can anyone point me in the direction of some information about "woolly mammoth pot" Routefinding and pitch lengths would be most useful.
Thanks
Ron

I am wondering if it should have been small mammal pot (a detour past the second pitch in Bar Pot).
Small Mammal Pot is an alternative to the first pitch in Bar (but the way back to the main route is not straight forward). It's a 10 m passage followed by a 20 m pitch into Small Mammal House.

Stile Pit is a tackle-free alternative to Small Mammal Pot, and also enters Small Mammal House (but from below).

Have a look at the caving wiki: http://ukcaving.com/wiki/index.php/Small_Mammal_Pot and http://ukcaving.com/wiki/index.php/Stile_Pot

Wooly Mammoth Pot I have not heard of.

Thanks, I have just returned from the glass nail shop, but have to nip back out to get some sky hooks!
I wonder if my mate was winding me up!

No seriously though I think you are right, and thanks for the links.

I am hoping to visit GG soon and trying to get a feel for the place as I have never been.

I want to recommend the winch, even if you want to do it under your own power another time. It is a very different experience some cavers find it worse than abseiling, I think that's a control thing. My advice would be to go early in the day or expect to queue.
