Ribblehead Cave

Hi

Anyone know the present way in to this cave? I have been recently and seen downstream entrances with dodgy looking banking collapse, while upstream looks impossible apart from a dry and very low crawl up on the left.  Anyone done it recently?? Is the low dry crawl the way in??  Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

p.s.  I want a picture of Douk gill scar on Penyghent for my blog.  Why is the farmer so protective of this little spot and is he approachable??

If there are access problems then would it not be wise for the CNCC to post as such on their website?  They do have an icon for "no access".

Yeh did not think you needed access to those caves, there popular novice caves when too wet for churns

Are you sure you're thinking of the right cave? One doesn't usually take novices into a cave where the entrance needs digging out almost every time you visit it  :tease:

The question is about Ribblehead Cave, on the opposite side of the road from Thistle and Runscar and others at Ribblehead which are loosely referred to as "Ribblehead caves"
