The western side of Glanbaiden roundabout will be closed until 06:00am Thursday 20th October.
We apologise for the late notice but the western side of the Glanbaiden roundabout will be closed until 06:00am Thursday 20th October to support essential drainage work in the main carriageway. The closure is signposted and the diversion is via the A465 westbound on-slip towards a temporary roundabout (approx. 900m), before returning to Glanbaiden roundabout along the eastbound carriageway of the A465.  We regret any inconvenience caused.

Yellow road signs have also appeared this week at the roadside about night-time closures affecting the minor road from Brynmawr to Whitewalls, presumably the Brynmawr end only where the enormous groundworks are underway for a new roundabout.

The best alternative coming from the east will be to get to Gilwern village via Usk, then take the minor road on the left after the petrol station there, up to the very top of the hill via Llanelly church, then right along the dram road.

If coming from the west, the minor road up to Whitewalls from Llangattock is the most direct, although steep.
