Had a nice easy trip in Waterwheel on Saturday, but the lowest dam was leaking. Instead of the 5-6' of lake at the bottom of the ladder there was only a few inches. After visiting the 'end' of the cave we returned to fix the problem.
The leak appeared to be directly under the concreted flower pot at the bottom of the dam. The water was gushing from underneath the dam via a hole with stacked pieces of concrete next to it, suggesting that someone had already investigated the leak from the downstream side. We jambed enough small pieces of rock under the flower pot to stop the flow and then covered the area with a thick layer of mud.
If our fix turns out to not be very good, then at least you will know where to look!
