    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

Peak cavern conservation

i'm not sure if i'll get told off for this, but last year a lot of effort was put into conserving parts of peak cavern, including some of the high level series' where little had been touched since 1991.

I will not name all of the areas where conservation took place, but needless to say, a cracking job was done of it. And i believe that scrubbing gear and garden spray bottles were left in to aid the upkeep of these lovely spots.

I'm allowed to say that one of the areas which was cleaned up was maypole inlet, which is between picnic passage and window inlet (the other way to start the round trip [that's not squaws jn]).
Wheelbarrows, boxes, drag trays, ropes, spades and all manner of digging equipment was pulled out.
Followed by a BBQ for all involved back at the hut.

Certainly there are some mud filled tubes around that area that must go somewhere with a little effort...!
