Did anybody see Ray Mear's visit to the Aven Orgnac in Wild France on the TV the other day?
It was such a contrast with his 'rival' outdoor star, Bear Grills, a straightforward account of a descent into the cave (via the original entrance shaft), with no bullshit and no histrionics about 'how dangerous this is'. He even had the grace (humility?) to use a lifeline for his abseil.
