TAJNE PODZEMLJA [Secret Underground] by Drago Margu? 2012  237 pp, numerous photos, surveys etc, average, one a page or more.  I have probably said this before, ?More a Coffee Table than a Coffee Table Book!?  Printed on art paper and measuring 11? x 11? x 1? inches it weighs nearly 5 lb.  Basically this book is a guide to the caves of the Krka National Park which is located along the middle-lower course of the Krka River in central Dalmatia, and just a few kilometers northeast of the city of ?ibenik.  It is the seventh national park in Croatia and was proclaimed a national park in 1985.  Eighty caves are described and for each cave there is a short description two or three photos and a survey.  This book represents years of research and exploration by the local caving clubs.  There is also a review of the geography, geology and hydrology of the area.  A history of research, biospeleology, and archaeological finds from two caves are also covered.  Although the text is in Croatian, you only need to know the meaning of the following words:
Pećina, ?pilja = Cave
Jama ? Pit
Ulaz ? entrance
Du?ina - Length
Ddubina ? Deepth
and the book will come to life!  An impressive tome, I have seen nothing like it in English which is a pity as there is a gaping void in the world of books of this calibre based on the British Isles, bearing in mind there have been some spectacular cave finds in recent years.  HB DW In Croatian  ?25.00
