Something possibly interesting at Doolin

Have a med student at present from Bristol.  He is Irish with a mother from Galway direction and is a keen surfer particularly the break of Crab Island at Doolin. Turns out there is a rift on one side that surfers occasionally get dumped in. What is interesting is that they have noticed that the water in it is brackish. Anybody else heard about this site?

It may be connected with some stuff that Mr Cronin knows about.

On further questioning of our student the hole is on the far side of Crab Island South side and consists of a rift into which surfaces get dumped. Would appear to be cave feature in that nobody has touched bottom in it and the water in it is brackish. Anybody got Pat Cronin's email - if he has one?

Mr Cronin will know the answers... think there are a number of caves that you get into from the sea at Doolin.  Seem to remember sitting just above the waterline waiting for divers to come out of Hell (?) a very long time ago - best memories of Doolin are of the bar!
