Thanks to Paul for posting the photo for me.
It comes from a collection of Eli Simpson / BSA records, some of which are in the British Caving Library. There are a few other things we know about it.
It is the top of Nettle Pot in Derbyshire. The "hut" was installed by Derbyshire Pennine Club in 1935/36 but the people in the photo are not members of DPC because we've checked.
The motor bike in the photo was registered for Lancashire County Council in Liverpool in 1945 - so that's the earliest possible date.
The women in the photo are dressed in what seems like late 1940's fashions - though they obviously aren't in their best clothes.
One of the men in both photos is wearing tricouni-nailed boots - but these were being superseded by Vibram-soled boots by the late 1950's.
The Hut still looks in reasonable condition so it can't be much later than late 1940s or early 1950s and the hut disintegrated altogether some time in the 1960s.
Given that the photo comes from BSA records, is it possible these are members of one of the post war BSA groups: BSA North Midlands Group, BSA TPU or even BSA Settle Group?
We'd like to know more about the photo so would welcome any ideas.
Many thanks.
