Correct me if I'm wrong but I read somewhere that mine exploration was banned on the IoM. Seems a shame as there's quite a lot there.

When I popped up to see Lady Isabella last year, we popped into the show mine section and the guy told us that some exploration of the top levels of the mine is allowed, and I bought a DVD that has some sequences shot in them. But I'm just heading out to the woods so can't check much now. Looked just like a mine I know in Derbyshire :)

Try the Laxey Mines research group - there are a lot of underground photos , access is controlled on the Island
