Hi all,
I am a Belgian caver, involved in exploration of the Belgian underground, as well as in the Pyr?n?es (France) (Anialarra, Pic de Ger).
I am contacting you because a major cave in Belgium is threatened by the possible construction of a new road in the middle of nowhere, despite the fact that the road density of the country is the world's most important (http://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/profiles/Belgium/Transport)
To help us, I would like to ask you to be so kind to signing a petition. Here is a copy of the mail I am sending a bit everywhere, including the link for petition. Please write in the comment that you are a caver :
As you may know, There are plans for a new road between the N4 and the river Meuse, between the villages of Courri?re and Mont?Godinne.
This project will :
-transform village streets and country roads (50-70km/h) into regional roads (90km/h)
-create a new road in the middle of fields, and will be placed on top of the Trou d?Haquin, destroying the cave and its valley forever.
You can find more info about the project on www.n931.be (sorry , in French only...)
To help the committee that opposes to the project, I would like you to sign the petition here :

Thank you for sharing this mail with as many people as possible here in Belgium or abroad. The trou d?Haquin is a major cave in Belgium, and has probably been visited by each and every caver who ever came to Belgium.
Thank you very very much for your support, and have a nice day.
Luc
