Hi,
Im off the Germany for christmas and was wondering if anybody know of any good caving i could do with the misses around the Essen area (west germany)

I think the nearest caves to Essen are either in the Ardennes (Belgium) or the Schwabian Alb (South West Germany), either way they are more than a hundred miles away...  :unsure:

Tend to spend some time in Germany or thereabouts most winters. Damned cold. Best bet is to concentrate fully on beer, sausage & schnapps.

Unfortunately no caving is allowed anywhere in Germany between (I think) 31st October and 31st March every year. Bat hibernation...

But I've been told there are some nice ones in the aforementioned Sauerland area...

Well it's only a short trip this time to meet the lady friends family. I'm sure ill be back there again with more time to travel and in season. Thanks for the help though..... Much appreciated

Essen - the home of the Krupp factory.

Plenty of holes there in the 1940's.

'Spec they're mostly filled in now.
