I've just had some junk mail from my local @!-%& Food Store advertising their "pizzas on a cardboard base."

Now I've come across deep pan,  flatbread and stuffed crust, but cardboard?

I would assume it means not an non-recyclable expanded polystyrene base?

One place in Italy we had a toasted base - was similar to cardboard...

Cardboard would probably be (slightly) more nutritious . . .
