Survey Books (Print your own)

Hi all,

I've just updated the 'arrows' style of survey book that we (Imperial College CC) use on expo, printing it 4 to a side of A4 on waterproof paper.
Latest paper we're trying out is some old-style plotter paper, glossy + seems fully waterproof - just like BCB wetnotes. Takes a sharp pencil line really nicely, though not sure about a blunt one. A whole ream was getting chucked out at uni, you might similarly be able to find some for cheap / free.
The aquascribe stuff we have been using was fairly good, but it's not fully plasticated - mud gets embedded into the paper, and rubbing it when wet can take the top layer off along with your survey notes(!)

Changes since the 2008 version:
* Removed the last shot line - this seemed to confuse people in use and mean they'd miss out a station number on going on to the next page
--> only does 12 shots between 13 stations now
* This freed some space, so moved the bottom two down a bit to print closer to the edge of the printer
* Added 'Name / Date / Who / page blag of blah' to the top of the booklet as sometimes this is forgotten.

If you want to tweak / add to it yourself, try opening up the PDF in inkscape.

Some blue metric graph paper I found somewhere on the Internet (for the flipside):

better method to remove mud is to wash paper.
