Also have a listen to his brilliant versions of "Annan Water" and "Annachie Gordon" if you liked that, and definitely watch the BBC documentary about what happened to him and how he came back.

Before he went solo Nic Jones appeared as a member of Halliard and I was there when they appeared at Matlock Folk Club. Nic Jones and a parody of The Green, Green Grass of Home "here comes Mary ------ and lips all hairy --- she's the pride of the local dairy -- devouring of the green, green grass of home." Sorry, I cannot remember more. A lot of people are still singing Nic Jones songs, arranged or even written by him but now thought to be traditional. I once sat in with a band many, many years ago in which Nic Jones was playing fiddle. A career cut short and one has to wonder had he not had that accident where Nic Jones would be now.
