    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

Permits in the PSM area and recomendations

My club is planning on going to the PSM this summer (we've applied for a permit, but heard nothing back, although, this doesn't seem unusual from speaking to people who've been in the past..)

We're keen to do a few other caves whilst in the area (both for variety and in case we don't get a psm permit) and my fairly outdated guidebook (1985) suggests there's plenty to do - so obviously we're wondering if anything in the area needs a permit, other than the PSM itself? Le Gouffre Lonne Peyret, and Le Gouffre du Couey Lodge look especially interesting, if anyone has any starting points for up to date information on those... I've currently found an ULSA rant for Lonne Peyret, and a report from PendleCC on Couey Lodge.

Any other caving/scrambling/canyoning recommendations in the area are welcome!

Best starting point would be the site of ARSIP: http://arsip.fr/

A good caving friendly camping is "Camping Ibarra"

Wessex Cave Club are there mid August. They have a permit and lots of accomodation already booked. Might be an idea to pick their brains. I believe there is a usful SWCC Journal of a trip they did to the area, don't know the number.

Thanks both for your help! I've found the SWCC Journal (Newsletter 134) and it's full of good info, will contact the Wessex too
