a better analogy would be asbestos that kills 5 times + as many people as it saves (up to 100k in the UK so far), similar with the current lockdown that can't continue in its current form

But, but, but....have we not been told caving is not an outdoor activity.

Natural Resources Wales think it must be indoors as a cave has a floor, walls and roof. It is the same as darts or shove 'apenny.

Interesting to compare it with asbestos.  When you work with asbestos now that we know better we cover ourselves from head to foot.  We could do that I suppose.  Get making the extra ppe.
Social distancing is easier.  I think we can achieve lots of activities with care.
