Dear Mine Explorers

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new platform for mine exploration aficionados – https://buddlepit.co.uk

What is the Buddle Pit?

We are looking to bring together individuals passionate about mine exploration, mine history, geology, and all things related to Mining. Whether you're an experienced explorer, a mining engineer, a rock hound, or a curious adventurer, The Buddle Pit is the perfect place for you to connect, learn, and share your tales and knowledge.

In addition to the forum, we are hard at work developing other services - mine database, mine mapping, document hosting etc. These will gradually become available under the Mine-Explorer name which has been kindly made available to us for this project. Any offers of help in this activity will be gratefully received.

Head on over to BuddlePit.co.uk and sign up for full access to the sub-forums. Post your photos and reports in the relevant categories and help flesh out this new site with your submissions.

If you are unable to see your registration email, please check the spam folder before reaching out to the team. Alternatively, you can use any authenticator for this purpose e.g. Authy, 2FAS.

Congratulations. I am aware of the hard work that has been put in behind the scenes to make this happen. You have my full support and I look forward to whatever level of participation I can do. There is more going on behind the scenes and I would ask everyone to this initiative their full support.

Unfortunately Pegasus...your sinister plan worked.

I was an A.N. member and enjoyed mines but had never been caving. After you extended your site's hospitality to A N. refugees, reading some of the content here I became cave curious.

I brow-beat an old friend of mine, also non caver, but in his case also non mines, to follow me down G.G. Dihedral (thanks Ian P for your patience answering my daft questions). I realised I definitely wanted to try more caving (although it had the opposite effect on my buddy).

Following that, pwhole and AlexR were kind enough to take me for a day's caving (thanks again) and it confirmed caving is great, and I've been caving since, both with others and solo and greatly enjoyed!

There's loads I've learned from the site. Until I read one of Captain Chris' posts, embarrassed to admit... but I was entirely oblivious to the fact that caving clubs are "virtually sex cults" and I look forward to joining one maybe later this year.

Your UKCaving hospitality has corrupted at least 1 mine explorer into caving and I intend to get much more caving done

Thank You!

Just driven 2 long hours up the m6 in atrocious conditions - got in, made a brew and read this - made my day and put a smile back on my face 😁

Not accessible from work unfortunately....

We don't have particularly strict policies and most stuff is visible (never seen this message before) so perhaps something is amiss?

As @ChrisB said, this is most likely due to the baby-faced appearance of the site as most malware/malicious sites spring up daily on random domains. Fortiguard lists the following:
Not RatedSites not yet analyzed/categorized are considered unrated.

Following your latest post, the site has been categorised as Information Technology, which goes under Fortiguards umbrella filter of "General Interest - Business". This is supposed to prevent employees accessing cable TV/Internet suppliers etc... Maybe I should clarify this to Fortiguard to inform them that employees will be wasting time scrolling mining photos instead of shopping around for a cheaper Netflix deal :ROFLMAO:

If it doesn’t start working by Friday Robin will see to it.

Apologies about this ! It’s obviously due to the large amount of traffic being received !;)

I use Malwarebytes, which is usually pretty good for blocking bad sites, and it let me straight in.
Me too, but the point is that there's no problem with the site, it's just that ttxela2's employer uses Fortinet, which knows nothing about the site so is blocking it until it learns more. Post some more mining discussion and photos on there to give it something to analyse.
