    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

Drawing Board Free To A Good Home

I have a large size professional drawing board that has been sat around doing nothing since I converted to AutoCAD some years ago. Available for collection from Matlock if you want it. Its pretty heavy and will require several burley cavers to move it. Cheers Julie

Does anyone know where I can get hold of about 6m of culvert pipe. Ideally about 1m diameter. Fibreglass  or plastic preferred but we could use galvanised steel or concrete if that is all we can get. Cheers Julie

    Cutting GRP Pipe

I've obtained some GRP pipes to line the top 2m of the latest dig at Bonsall Moor Swallet, but we are going to have to cut/profile the bottom part to fit around an awkward boulder and get a decent seat. Does anyone have experience of cutting this stuff and if so what is the best way of culling...

    Budget Compass/Clinometer

This looks like quite an interesting  piece of kit for any budding surveyers who are on a tight budget. I would probably give it a punt if I didn't already have surveying gear...

    Best 110V Drill/Breaker

I currently have a 110 volt Kango 950 which is good as a breaker, but is big and not a very good drill (plus it takes takes stupid size drills which are difficult and expensive to get)  I'm thinking of selling it on to get something more useful for drilling/breaking in near surface digs. Would...

    French Bowline

I use this knot sometimes for SRT rigging but nobody else seems to use it anymore. Is there some reason this knot seems to have fallen out of favour in recent years? Kitty
