Odin Mine - loose bolt on entrance pitch

3 of us SUSS members took a short trip in Odin Mine today. Of note was a loose bolt on the entrance pitch (after the ab in to the rake) - it's the 4th bolt in, but is easily bypassable if you're happy doing a single hang coming off the traverse. Have notified DCA but just watch it if you're in...

Marking club wellies - any tips?

I recently took over as club kit officer and I'm looking for a permanent way to mark wellies with their size. Does anyone have any tips? Felt tip marker does work for the most part but only on wellies that aren't black. And it seems to eventually rub off. Thanks hive-mind!

Owl Hole - shifted block on the way into Cascade Chamber

A group of SUSS including myself visited Owl Hole last night. We aimed to get into Cascade Chamber via the scaffolded choke dug by the Orpheus. After climbing down around 6m to the start of an insitu handline, a tight gap that I couldn't fit my hips through seemed to be the way on. It appears...

    Frozen krab at Aquamole entrance

On immerging from Aquamole to a beautifully frozen Kingsdale, we couldn't get out krab at the entrance open as it had frozen shut. It is trapped there along with the sling used to rig. If anyone goes in the following days when it's warmed up a bit, please can you help us retrieve it and return...

Expedition equipment - gas cylinders and useful misc

I have a two part question about exped kit and I'm hoping to to crowd source knowledge from the caving hive-mind: 1 - At the SUSS Tresviso camp we will be cooking on gas, both literally and (hopefully) figuratively. We've got hold of two gas cyclinders (I think the 11kg ones but maybe 18kg)...
