    Trip to Ireland.

Rebirth isn't too bad. It's a bit similar in size to some wee tube thing I remember doing in Mendip, maybe the drainpipe in goatchurch? It's the drop at the end that's awkward.

Best caving region in the UK?

A rarely seen arrangement of words. I can't really rate regions objectively. It's all down to circumstance really: 1: Fermanagh, for proximity. 2: Peak District, nice and easy to access everything around castleton and the Peak/Speedwell system is tons of fun. Plenty of other caves dotted around...

Best caving region in the UK?

Northern Ireland allows you to do some international caving in the space of one trip. Can't beat that in England.

British croc expert jailed for sexual abuse of dogs..................

I went looking for a written assessment of his crimes and I regret even that. ****ing deranged monster.

    Cave snacks

I tried that using the soft, malleable qualities of the snack as reasoning it would do fine in my pocket. Alas, it didn't last very long once I started going through colostomy crawl.

    Caves closest to pubs

The Linnet Inn in county Fermanagh is across the road from Boho cave, and has a wee room decorated entirely with stone rubble in a sort of cave homage. Not the closest to a cave by any means, but the best guinness-quality-to-cave-proximity-ratio by a mile

    New Avanti leg loops slipping

I did some absolutely miserable SRT in one of these and didn't notice anything untoward yet. Will keep an eye out. Bit worrying when I bet most people (me at least) go for a superavanti as it's bog standard reliable kit.

How frequently do you take hot drinks into the cave?

I use those cheap metal flasks you find everywhere these days and they work a treat. Usually only bring in hot fruit squash though - it doesn't matter if it eventually cools down and it's a nice booster on chilly trips.

Caving Crew wetness P scale (suggested)

How about adding a P0(xlow): Definitely a dry trip, until you get soaked through by intermittent dripping before remembering how wet the wet pitch actually is.

Wanted: ROI based Uni CC trip exchange with GB based Uni CC

I currently cave with University of Nottingham caving club, but my home's in Northern Ireland so I've been trying to get people to hop over the sea with me for a while  I'll have a look what our plans are for the coming term, we're always up for joint trips, and our sort of home turf is...

Warning - Devonshire Mine entrance subsidance

I'd like to help but I don't have much to offer, I like the cave because we can get to it easily without a car. I'd offer a helping hand after christmas if anything happens! Aside from the entrance subsidence the lower series should be grand to look around right? Assuming we take care with the...

    winnats Head survey?

Judging by the survey that was posted we found a rope in Fox Chamber. Just dangling down from the roof with a rebelay and no discernible (to my eyes) way it could have been installed from the bottom, any idea where it came from/goes to?

    Waterways Swallet 20/2/19

Getting stuck in the parking spot for waterway swallet should be a rite of passage for NUCC, you're not the first  Did you see the supposed fossilised tree bits? Beyond me to identify what they actually are but they looked cool, stumpy black stone things. I also distinctly remember...

    What gear is homemade nowdays?

I made a small bag, with enough fabric left over to make a couple more probably. It's only cordura but the sheet I got cost around a tenner and there's enough on it to make a significant part of an oversuit if I was feeling brave. I'll leave that one for the future though. The bag seems to be...
