All-Party Parliamentary Group on Volunteer Rescue

Is it wise to encourage MPs to get involved? They'll probably just introduce loads of new regulations, red tape and diversity targets. Propose fining people for getting lost and make all fun illegal unless you are supervised by a qualified professional. We will have to file risk...

    Knot pass (free hanging)

I prefer the top half of the double fisherman's to be a capuchin knot (or half a double fisherman's on a byte). Then thread the lower rope through the middle and complete the double fisherman's as normal. So you end up with a double fisherman's with a clip in loop built in. NB: The capuchin...

    Tackle Bag Tether

Yes, been there, done that. But it wasn't whilst prusiking, I was crouched in a passage above a rift and ended up doing yoga above a 50ft drop to free myself. Every time I lifted my knee up to try and free it I ended up in a more contorted position with my knee somewhere near my ear.

    Tackle Bag Tether

I prefer me 'donkeys dicks' to be long enough to hang below my feet when prusiking if attached to my D ring (or harness). If you read it more carefully I think you'll see that it's transphobia rather than misogyny.

I left the bag that Damien found at the CPC hut today. There were no CPC members there but there was another group who said 'I'll leave that in the kit room for you'.

POLL about stuck ropes/problems on pull throughs

I once got a rope stuck on the first pitch of Swinsto because someone tied a stopper knot in the end. I never do that if I can clearly see that the rope is on the floor. So I pulled through without noticing the knot. Fortunately we were able to easily climb back up and remove the knot...
