    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

I was recently given a copy of 'The Underground Explorers' by Conon Fraser. This novel for children was published in 1957 and is very much in the 'Famous Five' style with regulars exclamations of 'golly' or 'gosh' and liberal lashings of lemonade. Here is a quote, taken from page 93, which I suspect will cause some amusement...

"...we can't take guesswork to a pompous know-all like Mr Sparrow."

Cap'n I agree, pomposity isn't normally a characteristic associated with the elderly.

Sorry Andy, don't really mean it. The thought made me laugh, I just had to share it with Chris.

Please don't give the impression that Mr. Sparrow is pompous; he's far too important for that, as has told me himself many times.
