Announcing our autumn-winter 2023-2024 workshops​

We are delighted to publicise our Autumn/Winter 2023-2024 calendar of training workshops, spanning SRT skills (including rescue and rigging), geology, first aid and leadership skills.

Spaces are likely to go quick on some of these (our mailing list have already had a one-day head-start on booking spaces, and over 20 spaces have already gone). Sign up soon to avoid disappointment!
  • 7th October: Skills for horizontal cave leaders (1 day)
  • 7-8th October: New to SRT indoor workshop (2 days)
  • 14-15th October: First aid skills for cavers (2 days)
  • 28th October: Underground geology tour with The Rock Doctor (1 day)
  • 11th November: SRT underground refresher (1 day)
  • 12th November: New to SRT rigging / rigging refresher (1 day)
  • 18-19th November: New to SRT / SRT refresher (2 days)
  • 19th November: SRT rescue foundation (1 day)
  • 9th December: SRT rescue intermediate / rescue refresher (1 day)
  • 10th December: SRT rescue advanced (1 day)
  • 16-17th December: SRT refresher (2 days)
  • 6th January: SRT rescue foundation (1 day)
  • 13-14th January: New to SRT rigging / rigging refresher (2 days)
  • 13th January: SRT underground refresher (1 day)
  • 10th February: SRT intermediate / SRT refresher (1 day)
  • 11th February: Skills for SRT cave leaders (1 day)
Additional event for existing anchor installers across the UK:
  • 14-15th October: BCA Regional Anchor Installers Technical Forum. This is for active anchor installers only, across all caving regions, an opportunity to share knowledge and experience between regions and installers (2 days).

Reminder of our ‘Try Caving’ events this autumn

These are an opportunity for anyone who has never caved before to come along, meet some cavers, learn about the sport and try it out. If you know anyone who might be interested (or if your club/group receives enquiries from novices that you cannot accommodate) these are great events to direct them towards.
  • 2-3rd September: Hosted by the YSS (2 days)
  • 30th September: Hosted by the RRCPC (1 day)
  • 4-5th November: Hosted by the YSS (2 days)
If any attendees enjoy these and want to take things further, we have our two New-to-SRT workshops (included in the list above) on 7-8th October and 18-19th November which are the perfect next step.
