strong set of minutes and agenda.

Can I make a small suggestion that an alternate font is used.

Many people with dyslexia and similar really struggle with ‘serif’ fonts (the ones with the squiggles), as the a’s and e’s end up mixing up amongst other bits.

My work uses century gothic for example which is pretty disability friendly :)

What a nice surprise - nice one, Rostam! The BCA is heavily dependent on volunteer effort, and recognizing that effort is vital in keeping volunteers feeling valued and positive, and keen to keep contributing.

I should say that the IT team is like a knock off Charlie's Angels, and whilst I may have been Charlie, the Angels deserve recognition too: Angus Sawyer, David Gibson, Andrew McLeod, and David Cooke.

For those who might not bother to follow the link and download the agenda the significance alluded to above it that there is a number of letters attached to the agenda from Rostam, the new BCA chair. These individual letters are addressed to a number of people who volunteered for BCA during, shall we say, a difficult time. The letters convey a sincere thank you or an apology for the way individuals were treated or both. I expect they will be very welcome. Both myself and Pegasus are recipients.

One point I would make, Rostam, is that although the letters are dated 3rd June, this is the first we have seen of them. It would be a good idea to send them out to each person individually as I know at least one person would have been very unlikely to read the BCA agenda and discover the letter for themselves. That is part of the reason I have written this post. Cheers.

Hi Josh,

Having just applied Century Gothic to my current working document Century Gothic doesn't look very good when italic and normal text are next too each other. I've just been down through the fonts I have access too and have settled on Aptos as a replacement. Before I commit to the change, would this solve the accessibility issue you've raised here?

N:B: Image displaying Aptos font in use in a range of formats.

Additionally, the upcoming agenda and previous minutes have been updated - these mostly consist of formatting changes, but also some corrections to attendees in the minutes and a wording change of section 8.3.

sorry my initial description was pretty poor, basically looking for a ‘proper’ a, and simplified g.

Other possible fonts include stuff like futura (that I use personally for things now), or some from the following link:

Our old pastor was dyslexic. He favoured Century Gothic, avoiding formats such as justified and distributed that vary the spacing of the words.
