Creating a “Closed” forum

Hi all

One of the outcomes of the recent anchor installers forum was to use UKC as the main “hub” for discussion and information in the future.

I am led to believe you can have a “private” or “closed” section on this forum platform.

The idea would be to have a closed forum specifically related to regional resin anchor installations BUT open to anyone to join who had an interest in this area.

Could anyone please advise/ help???

Thanks in anticipation

A closed forum that is open to anyone?

Might be better to have it distinctly private, but with moderator rights to add known cavers with a genuine interest

Ian - Have a chat to Gary. He is the IT support on the forum. He is also an anchor installer. :)

We are always happy to accommodate, it is only the technical side that needs sorting.

The “open” to anyone bit refers to the forum being “open” to anyone to join but will obviously be “out of sight”.

Criteria to join will be a desire and an interest to join, not sure how you “measure” whether that interest is “genuine” 🤷‍♂️ and who do they have to be “known” by ?

Thanks Badlad.

I already have an enquiry direct to Gary but I feel I use alot of his time already 😱, so was hoping to source alternative assistance.

I will be seeing him at the CNCC meeting on Saturday so will take him a packet of biscuits 😃

Thanks for the information.

I think it could be a really useful system for what we are after.

Cheers
Ian
