Dyneema webbing

currently writing a mechanical engineering dissertation centred around the design of boots and am collecting material samples for various bits of testing. Does anyone know where I could get a sample of dyneema webbing around the same thickness/width as the stuff used as gear loops on the new petzl harnesses? I'm struggling to find anywhere I can buy it online

ideally I'd be after about a metre, but any little scraps would help if anyone knows a supplier. Alternatively if anyone knows where I can get hold of a harness that's reached the end of it's srt life but still has at least one vaguely intact dyneema gear loop that would be useful?

You can def buy dyneema webbing, but maybe not as thick so easily. It is used on sails for reinforcement for one thing.

Boats are the primary use for dyneema (and all rope for that matter).

unfortunately the thinnest contender (and other chandlery websites) go is 12mm, which is wider than the 8mm or so I'm after, and many only offer 50m rolls. Have contacted the website you linked this morning re obtaining samples of 12mm, but I'm still on the hunt for narrower webbing

I suspect that supply of dyneema webbing to retail customers is limited by concerns about it being difficult to knot safely, and sewing it being something that needs industrial machines.
