On the CSCC website, under Access for GB Cave (and other CCC caves), it states:
"PERMITS AND INSURANCE
All cavers visiting these caves require a valid permit. Permits may be issued by any one of the eleven member clubs to their own club members and guests. Each club maintains its own public liability insurance which provides cover for members and guests"
I belong to one the clubs that issues these permits; I am a member of BCA as are all the other members of my club. So we all have BCA insurance but this does not extend to guests. So it comes as a suprise to read that "Each club maintains its own public liability insurance which provides cover for members and guests". How is it that guests are insured - is the premium included in the 50p permit cost, if so it is a bargain compared to the ££ I have to pay? I am sure that they are not insured through my club? When I issue a permit to a guest, does that guest then beleive he is insured - after all, it says he is on the CSCC website?
Can anyone explain, please?
