I’m posting here as I was looking for some recommendations or contacts for groups or clubs whose trips underground either mainly focus on mines or frequent them, or groups who have a cohort with an active interest in the field.
I’m an experienced and proficient caver who is in several caving clubs already - but most of the trips are (unsurprisingly I suppose!) to caves, and I’d really like to find some folk who share my interest in mines to go on some trips and get involved with (I work with museums / archives etc and have a background in industrial archaeology, so my interest stems out of that).
I’m based in the North East / Yorkshire but I travel about the country quite a bit so quite interested in getting involved with groups a bit further afield as well as closer to home.
I realise this sounds a bit like some sort of old-fashioned personal advert ha! Anyway, I would love any suggestions or leads to start getting back out underground after a few months off - Thanks in advance!
