Manifold area

Had a bit of time yesterday so had a walk down the river bed from wetton mill to weags bridge refreshing my memory of the area. I replaced some grills and man hole lids that had been unseated and cleared flood debris. The river seems to have flushed some of the digs out, ladyside pot looks to be choking up.The lids and gates could really do with some TLC,the concrete is starting to deteriorate around some lids, some have clearly been vandalised and the gate at redhurst swallet could do with some attention. I know the Dafar have dispanded,do we need National trust permission to work on the entrance stabilisation?happy to put some time and effort in before thing get lost.

Also I noticed there is a dig in the bank of the river at the confluence of ladyside brook and the manifold, scaffold shoring in place and some buckets in there, its not logged any where, can any one shed any light on it?

Although Darfar PC are no more, I believe some ex-members are still active in the area, the dig might be one of them? Yes, the NT would need to be engaged before doing anything down there (and possibly SSSI permission sought depending on what's being done and where) but DCA can help with that.
