According to a notice by Horton bridge, the road will be closed from 7th Novermber for 4 weeks

This is the closure to fix the crack in Brants Gill bridge that was postponed from the spring. There will be a pedestrian bridge installed, but vehicular access to the Crown and the CPC hut will only be from the north.

I can confirm (I drove over it yesterday) that the work has been completed early and the bridge is open.
