three peaks caving?

I remember hearing something about a three peaks caving challenge one time in the pub. Is this a joke or did some people actually do some sort of challenge?

Hello Chris,

The Three Peaks and Three Pots consists of doing Penyghent, Ingleborough and Whernside with Penghent, King and Meregill Pots inbetween - including carrying all your gear to the top of all three peaks. I think it's been done a few times.

That's easy. It's must be Giant's. It says so here...

Err... I don't think that Iain has updated his caving parts of the website for a while. I'll remind him to update things a bit.
I used to be one of his caving instructors (A.K.A. 'Daft' Dave) before you needed bits of paper to do such things.

I remember the depth of Peak being 244m before Titan was mined - has that accounted for the extra 4m?

The Three Peaks challenge was much harder before SRT replaced ladders!

surely the better three peaks caving challenge is to go to a pub on each peak and do calf holes, heron and great douk instead of what are to be honest pretty serious and arduous caves (king etc)? alright its not as physically testing but you could be back at the pub for plenty of drinking afterwards
