Two New Entrances to the Réseau de la Dent de Crolles

I have been informed by Gilbert Bohec that the number of entrances into the Réseau de la Dent de Crolles has risen by two to eighteen.

The first new entrance is a neither here-nor-there, being an alternative way into the Guiers Mort entrance passage.

The second is more interesting, being an entrance on the plateau about 130 metres NNE of P40. It was opened up last Thursday. It is probably not a trivial undertaking, as it enters the Réseau des Polonais, which is a desperately tight series of meanders one can find oneself in if one goes off-route in the P40. It was explored from below.

I have updated the Réseau de la Dent de Crolles website.

Gilbert also tells me that a new high-grade survey is being made of the system. About 20 km have been completed (probably another 40 km to go!).

Are there any entrances on the plateau now which are less tight than P40? Possibly even pleasant?

P40 and Coeur are actually the exception. Pulpite with its 145 metre shaft is used for commercial caving, and has one 10 m-long narrow bit. Thérèse and Cartusiens are both great trips, and I understand that Vouay is pretty good as well.

P40 is a classic trip and well known for good reasons, but visitors are well advised to see what else is on offer in the system.
