Which pot is this....?

Some years ago in the dim and distant past, a number of us were press ganged into a potholing/caving excursion by a manager for the company we worked for.

Trouble is I can't remember the name of the pot hole....!

Here's what I remember of the trip:

We walked into a cave with a stream flowing from it and climbed up a narrow aven, further along there was a stream running through the cave, us folks sat either side whilst the boss man and his caving mates took us 2 by 2 through a narrow 'letter box' with a complicated turn/bend in it.

It ended up standing in a cold pool of water up to our knees  :yucky: waiting whilst others climbed up an electron ladder out of an open pot.

I have a feeling it was somewhere around the Ribblehead/Horton area, but I'm not 100% sure.  :-\

However, I had a damn good day out and now, some 20 years later, am enjoying caving a second time round!

Thanks for any help in advance.

It was Browgill to Calf Holes, up in the Birkwith area, near Horton in Ribblesdale.

It's usually done the other way round though, starting by going down the ladder and popping out at the bottom end. It's a lovely little cave for a Sunday afternoon.

I agree sounds exactly like a description of Browgill Cave to Calf Holes in the Birkwith Area on the slopes of Penyghent.  My first wild cave too, though the other way round.

I immediately thought of Browgill-Calf Holes too.  My first cave in 1959 and I still remember the horrifying sight of coffee-coloured water thundering down the pot in a snowstorm.
