On Station to Survex converter
« on: December 23, 2019, 09:07:23 am »
Has anybody written a converter to convert On Station survey files into Survex format?

Got 6 years of data from our Burma expeditions in On Station and need to convert them.

Thanks!

John Stevens of Chelsea Speleological Society may be your best bet. http://www.chelseaspelaeo.org/contact.htm

He uses the theodolite data by Peter Cousins and others to drive his therion model, so must have got it in a format which Survex/Therion can handle. Whether this process was automated or manual, I don't know.

Looks like I can use Rosetta Stalacite to convert to Compass, then Footlegs CaveConverter to convert to .svx.

Made harder by not being allowed to install software on my work laptop, but AWS came to the rescue :)
