• Tony is on holiday until Saturday 20th

This means that the Travelling Shop will be out of action for a week and any inquiries sent to him won't be picked up until he's back.

In the meantime the rest of the Starless River team will be hard at work ensuring online orders are posted out to you all. Thanks everyone.

  • Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Does anyone fancy purchasing some quality 'Berhill Bangers'? This pig has grown up in the height of luxury, fed on the finest ingredients of cider apples and veggies. This free range Gloucester Old Spot was one pampered porker!
They come in one flavour only (pork)they are packed with meat and taste fantastic!
You will be hard pressed to find anything better and at the amazing price of  £1.80 per lb. Available in 1.5lb packs (approx 8 huge sausages per pack) CHEDDAR CAVING CLUB MEMBERS ONLY.
Please contact Barry Hulatt or Mark Whyte in the usual way.

I like "Butleigh Bangers" - come from lovingly cared for pigs that have several acres to root around in and several of the neighbours gardens, apparently. They're crossed with wild boar as well - very pretty, and very tasty!

Is that the sort of farming you do Hughie? If so then don't worry we are not going to be much competition for you. We just have a shedload of sausages to offload because this was one BIG pig. By the way we are only just down the road from Butleigh! We will not be going into a full time business just yet.

No - that's not my sort of farming. A good friend of mine does it alongside his beef/sheep/apple/arable stuff. He's also a caver, incidentally.

Nothing quite like a proper sausage though. Did you sausage the whole pig?

:o Not in public I hope!

Yes and no in that order.

I am a real foodie and I must say these were some of the best I have tasted.
I will also add that if you know Barry or I then you are quite welcome to PM me for a good sausage, pfnr, pfnr!
You will have to arrange to collect from a cave meet or something.
