I have been contacted by the cavers who would like to remain anonymous or least until they have finished surveying and exploring all the passages. They said they would let you know in due course as they did not want to go to the trouble of installing a lid. Sounds very exciting especially the stream-way!!

You seemed to be the most clued up about all this, how about you give us all a slightly more detailed description of the find without telling anyone of its location. Just some basic facts would satisfy everyones genuine interest for the time being. You've allegedly spoken to the guys so I'm sure you know more than there's a streamway, which is about as vague as you can get.

I've heard more details than that but am not going to post them as I need to be sure it's fact first.

A sign warning people away, which purports to be from DCA, has appeared on a gate leading to the area in which this new system has been found.

Although it looks like an official sign and carries the DCA logo, it has definitely NOT been put there by DCA and none of DCA's officers was aware of its presence until today.  We are investigating to find out who put it there and whether it was done with any kind of official sanction from some other body, or whether it has been placed by the landowner.  (Or even by someone trying to be funny!)
