To clarify.. the sign refered to in Jenny Ps post is at Eldon Hill Quarry where we recently found 130m of new cave. This is not the site of the rumoured breakthrough into a new system - I think Id know if someone else was diggin there.

I will be stayting away for now until we find out why the notices have gone up - we dont want to cause further probs bearing in mind the same farmer who grazes the quarry also is tennant/landowner around Eldon Hole so we dont want to shag access to that.

Anyone got any other ideas for digs? I need to dig!

Jim, do you know who actually owns Eldon quarry? We were up there with the police a couple of months back, but couldn't find any info on who owns the land.

Those people not in the in-crowd get very annoyed and frustrated by threads like this and that's why it was dumped. The same was done for a vague rumour thread on the Ogof Fawr breakthrough two years ago.

I too think it is a wind up, but it gives us something to talk about in the pub,

There is no 'in crowd' in the Peak District, most diggers know what each other is doing, and get along fine,

just got back to civilization.

I too am a local digger, but its nothing I know about.

What I do know is that new cave has been found, but the diggers do not want it publicised yet, which is fine. When they are ready, I'm sure they'll be the first to tell world about it via which ever channels they chose (here, hnh, descent etc).

I dont know who they are, or where it is, but well done.

We should all respect their wishes for now.
