Large Pot is now the top entrance to the system.  Which would be 'THE' classic through trip.  Large Pot to Top Sinks, or Large Pot to Bull Pot of the Witches, or another.  Someone's bound to try it in the next year or so, which should they do?

Sorry about the spelling mistakes in the earlier posts, I didn't realise you got marked!  You guys teachers or something?

An excellent 4mins it was interesting and the excitment grew even sat in my office chair but I am biased of course. It was great having the inclusion of the video recording of the voices on the day of breakthrough.

Congratulations from the Finnish Caving Society to everybody involved as well!

We are looking forward to ... ermm, probably not doing the through trip right away, but at least coming back to what now seems to be among the 10 longest caves (?) in Europe next summer.

Finnish Caving Society?  Are there caves in Finland?

I wonder what would have happened if it had been a team of professionals. Anyhow, I'm glad the link got at least some decent media coverage, even if my own editors at the Mail on Sunday were not as interested as I would have liked. But I am shocked about the earthquakes. I had no idea.

This really ought to be another topic, but..

"In Finland, the bedrock is mostly granite, which means that there are almost no solutional caves."

See http://xy.utu.fi/luolatutkimus/en/caves.shtml

So it doesn't look as if the system can be pushed in that direction...

I have managed to find a few more caves:

There is an article on the Caves of Finland by Leander Tell, in Grottan Vol 4 No 3 April 1970.  He mentions Caves in the Troll Mountains, at V?r? north east of Vasa.  Also Kangal Cave, about 10 m deep, at Ohtola on the bank of the river Roine.  Omrmberget (Snake Mountain), so called becuse there are many snakes living in the caves there. Then there is a 50 m long rift cave at S?derstrand in Bromarv.  Quoting Corbel he mentions the 20 m long Torhola Cave at Lohja and many more.
