    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

Vacancy for Individual Representative

GET INVOLVED WITH YOUR BCA!

One of the BCA's Individual Representative roles was left vacant following the 2019 AGM, and runs until the 2020 AGM in June. To try to get new people involved in BCA Council, we would also like to appoint someone to this role on an ?acting? basis at the 11th January Council meeting. We would therefore like to hear from any BCA individual member keen to get involved in BCA Council, to represent the interests of others, and to work as part of BCA Council to the benefit of British caving. This would be a voting position lasting for two meetings (January and April) but with the option to re-stand for a full two year term at the AGM in June.

Applicants should ideally be able to attend the 11th January and 4th April 2020 Council meetings (ideally in person but electronic remote attendance will also be available). Assuming you wish to continue the role from June, attendance and the AGM in the Mendip Hills on 14th June 2020 is also desirable.

If this opportunity is of interest to you then please contact secretary@british-caving.org.uk to ask any questions, and submit your application no later than 15th December. We recommend including a short application statement.

Thank you.
