Dont forget chaps, its the BCRA Cave Science symposium this Saturday, at the British Geological Survey in Keyworth, Nottingham.
Everyone welcome. You don't need to be an academic to come along, just have an interest in caves. :beer:

The British Cave Research Association (www.bcra.org.uk) is pleased to give final details for its one-day annual Cave Science Symposium to be held at the Environmental Science Centre, British Geological Survey (BGS: www.bgs.ac.uk) on Saturday 9 March 2013. This will be a joint meeting with the BGS and the East Midlands Geological Society (www.emgs.org.uk). It will be hosted by Dr. Andrew Farrant of the BGS. Cave Science Field Meetings to the Lincolnshire karst and to the sandstone caves of Nottingham are planned for Sunday 10 March, as well as an Open Day at the British Caving Library, as announced separately.

Whether you are an academic, an amateur scientist, geologist or a caver wanting to find out more about the karst environment, you should find something of interest at the Symposium. Pre-registration is not required, but, in order to avoid delay to the start, please arrive before 9.00am, when registration will commence. The admission charge, to include morning and afternoon refreshments, will be ?5, with free entry to speakers, students and members of the sponsor organisations. Donations to help finance the meeting will also be accepted.

All day free onsite car parking will be available via the main entrance. The route to the Environmental Science Centre will be sign posted. Attendees should bring their own lunch packs. During the Symposium, visits will also be arranged to the BGS Archives and the 3D Visualisation Suite.
