Sarcasm and humour are very difficult to post online, and people will often misinterpret such statements as a slight against them.

my gnomes don't know what sarcasm is. but in deference to the title of this thread, caving is fun, and conservation especially so.

Indeed Peter. Conservation conversations can be conservative but many are more marvellous.
