Zenit have released a digital rangefinder camera that comes with a 35mm f1.0 lens (yes f1.0). Yours for only 5,500 euros!  Innards are seemingly allegedly based on a Leica M series (ironically my Leica compact is mainly Panasonic inside), with the lens is all soviet. Leica do seem to be sleeping around a bit at present with links to Panasonic, Sigma, and now Zenit.  If it's any good it's still way cheaper than a Leica M.

Still I'm intrigued at how the lens wlll perform.  Other fast lenses around include the f0.95 ones from Voigtlander, which are now really Cosina from Japan!

Is it as indestructible as the SLRs they used to make, I wonder? I heard tales of one surviving a 30' drop!

My old one got dropped down the stairs, swapped in the river and much abused.

Just kept on working

My first SLR and it was used underground and survived many trips and still appearing in adverts. Though they have reversed the image!
