I am finding it impossible to open the files in drop box.
Drop box says that although pdf. files are supported something went wrong.
I have also tried through the app to no avail
Is there a problem at this end?
Or is there another way to view them?

They're all packed with info, often on mines you've never even heard of. Plenty to go on. It was a very useful check on a few shafts we found over the years - Doug had always found them first ;)

For me Books 1,4, & 5 open ok. I get the error message on the others.

Book 4 on the topic of Moorwood Sough is v. interesting. Perhaps clearring this past Glebe Mine shaft would bring spectacular results.

I downloaded them to my computer. That worked irrespective of any errors from Dropbox.

Chris.

These make for superb reading.

Of particular interest was mention of that level that was pumped up in Coombs Dale. Seem to remember having to rescue our family?s dog after it chased a rabbit in there and fell down the shaft in the middle of winter. Found it cowering on the ledge above the pool....

I'd better not mention how long I've had them then - sorry. In mitigation, I have put them to very good use on projects that everyone will benefit from  :halo:

On the Merlins mine one, there is the line of 'supposed' sough tail crossing over the road behind the pub.

Allegedly, a certain JSB was informed, many, many years ago, that there was (i) access to said sough from within Merlins, and (ii) access to said sough from the cellar of now demolished pub.

Seen that the pub is no longer there, I did start a dig from within Merlins, I got about a meter or so down and a dry stone wall appeared.

Unfortunately, a house move and later, emmigration got in the way.

If anyone is interested, PM me.

Hi all,

Brilliant! (y)

However, as others have reported - Books 1, 4, 5 open OK.  :coffee:

However I'm struggling to open Book 2, 3 & 6 - Dropbox says it can't display them, and Adobe PDF Viewer (latest version) fails to open them, reporting "the file is damaged and could not be repaired". Have tried several free online pdf repair tools with limited success....  :(

I've uploaded the files to: http://www.tinpuffin.com/caving/DOUG_NASH_COLLECTION/

Hopefully this will solve the problems people have been having with Dropbox.
