Just a quick post to let folks know that DCRO are running their annual Whitehall Day next Sunday (Whitehall Centre, Long Hill, Buxton).
In case you're not familiar with this event, it's basically an overview of what DCRO do and what equipment they use. It's partly aimed at new members, but it's also aimed at cavers who are either thinking of joining DCRO or who would be likely to come to our assistance on a dark and stormy night ... when we need extra manpower or specialist knowledge or expertise.
The point is (and this was brought home to me in a very moving way a year ago when I was rescued by DCRO from P8) when things go pear-shaped underground, a caver either sorts himself out ... or he gets sorted out by other cavers. There aren't really any other options.
And the more you know about what we do and what we use, the better it will be ... on that dark and stormy night!
If you fancy finding out, you're more than welcome - there's no charge, no obligation ... and there's even free food.
Cheers javascript:void(0);

PS It would be nice for the folk who buy the food if you could warn us if you're coming - but if it's a last minute decision, come anyway. We'll just spread the food further!
