    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

River Fly monitoring

Hi all,
I went on a training course on Saturday with Bristol Avon Rivers Trust/ River Fly partnership. The idea of the course is to get people monitoring their local rivers for changes in River Fly population which can indicate a pollution incident. I am Bristol based, so the river I choose to monitor will be local to me, but they are looking for people wherever there are rivers. As cavers we have an interest in the health of our local rivers, thought it might be of interest to people on here. The course just took a day, and you are only required to monitor once a month, ideally with a partner.

Apologies if this has been posted before.

I usually run one of these each year at the Ribble Rivers Trust  - might be of interest for people in the Dales. Other rivers trusts are available.
